Cold Winter by Dee Ramdass

Clinging to my bed covers and pillows
Man, it’s cold in here!

You jump over me into bed
I waited for your purr
Clawing at my sheets
Your head under my armpit.
No snuggles
No cuddles
I reached to feel you, my little, sweet angel kitten

With the cell phone light, I looked for you
I know I felt you
Puzzled and wide awake
I wonder if you’re cold, cold too

You were so cold when I buried you
In that high place
In my cactus garden
